I bet when Biden team planned this debate with CNN and they chose those anchors, then they set all the rules that seemed to cut heavily against Trump’s usual style, they were banking on Trump firing back and refusing to debate unless the rules were changed.

Biden would’ve been able to spin that as Trump backing down and not debating.

Trump calls their bluff and accepts all the terms as proposed and it turns out to be the biggest political disaster for the dems I can remember in my lifetime.

The legend of Trump continues

You’re stupid.

Unfortunately trump took the bait on the ridiculously early debate date.

This is going to give the dems time to regroup. Do the first debate in September like usual, and it’s game over after the world sees Biden as the confused old man he is.

It was quite impressive. Trump maintained himself very well. I was kinda surprised by that, pleasantly.

Biden was an unfathomable disaster to a The Emperor's New Clothes level. How any thinking person could have ever thought him competent is disgusting.

Some might would say he stepped right into their trap allowing them to replace the one person he could beat but

Yes, a power struggle for the new leader of the dems while a sitting president and vice president are running for reelection is the key to victory.

This won't age well unless Biden refuses to leave the race. When CNN announced their restrictions Trump should have bailed. Talk about transparency - they would have no argument and no way to deal with those accusations because of their track record. Go HAM with town halls, go live on social media and just torch Biden on his record.

Tonight was either going to be ammo to get rid of Biden or he was going to show up and look stupid but sane which Democrats would call a victory.

He's has virtually destroyed our nation in 3.5yrs. Make him run on that.

If they get him out of there now, Dems will hit the reset button. They'll spin this as 'you can't blame the party for this because Biden did his own thing and we warned him but you see he's crazy and he did it against our counsel' and they will escape accountability for destroying our nation.

They'll bring in someone new, talk about the future, looking ahead, unity, and a lot of voters that can't stand Trump will eat that up.

He walked right into a legendary trap.

He will lose to Newsom.

Thats what Trump wants

The last time the DIMs regrouped, they almost destroyed the city of Chicago. The convention is once again in Chicago. The DIMs are having nightmares of seeing a repeat.

Also, some early voting starts in 10 weeks. You dont fix that image in just 10 weeks

Trump could’ve bagged on Biden’s demeanor pretty hard but he kept his composure and crushed.

Trump isn’t stupid. He isn’t new to the game anymore.

He knows what the Dems could do and performed in a way that it won’t matter.

Do yall honestly think an administration as corrupt as Joe Biden’s will just peacefully turn over the reigns to someone else because of a bad debate performance?

This was a disaster for the dems but this is like trying to turn around an oil tanker. You don’t just snap your fingers and all of a sudden a new candidate who lost to Biden in the primaries is suddenly crowned over the sitting president.

They will double down on throwing Trump in jail or changing election rules in blue districts to game more votes before they will give up power.

When have rules, laws, and logic applied to the Democratic Party?
They've been making up the rules as they go just to screw RFK Jr this cycle.
It's clear they want Biden out of there, but I don't know if he will agree to step aside.
Their best move is to leave him there and go after 2028.

If Biden steps aside they can get a new candidate immediately. Gavin, Michelle, many others will step in. There would be no debates, just campaign stops, short speeches, zero pressure, all hype. They have the media machine behind them. Wouldn't be as difficult as it seems. The key is to get Biden to step aside.

Will those candidates risk their entire political career picking up the pieces of a failed incumbent campaign? If they step in and then lose to Trump they will be done politically. I know in the heat of the moment it’s easy to just say “drop Joe, insert other popular dem” but that is a massive gamble and it would also require Joe to resign in complete shame and embarrassment. He might be old but he has an ego too. He didn’t get to where he is because he plays nice.

How would a new candidate run on Joe’s accomplishments? He would be forced to defend the same disastrous policies that Biden has been pushing.

You’re stupid if you believe Biden’s team would’ve accepted any alternative debate formats including the date. Their media buddies would’ve covered for them and spun everything as Trump is scared to debate.

By debating he has forced a massive panic and riff in the entire Democratic Party and has them scrambling unsure of what to do next.

If republicans were debating whether or not to replace Trump after the debate tonight I wouldn’t have a strong feeling about the odds this fall.

“I respect what Joe and his team were trying to do to combat the situation that Donald left them in. With that said I would have done and will do yada yada yada”

You’re an idiot

Newsome - turn America into Califonia! Not happening

Hillary - probably the most hated woman in America

Kamala - probably the 2nd most hated woman in America

RFK? Dems hate him for some reason

Trump outsmarted them and you are too fricking dumb to admit that.

You’re underestimating just how idiotic democrat voters are. Literally any replacement will get the same amount of votes out of TDS
