I can’t stand anything after MAYBE the early/mid-90’s?

But I’d say 95% of my listening come from 1960-1975…

Sadly, there was a brief period when music as a whole was just trash and that was around 1975-1984ish…

Look at the billboard for those years and it’s a sad sight.

Probably not as I’m not a fan of the early 60’s music (I preferred the hard rock and jazz fusion of the late 60’s) and 2000’s music is something I listen to A LOT.

I usually listen to metal and instrumental progressive stuff so my answers vary

In general worst is now especially for "popular" music
But there are so many awesome instrumental guitarists that the genre is probably better than ever

Best
For pop music 90s-00s
For metal - the 80s

I was not a disco fan either but Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, Boston, Foghat, Triumph, Buffet, .38 Special, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson, and on and on and on.

My issue is that there’s so many great guitarists right now but the songwriting is bunk. This generation of shredder is technically brilliant but struggles to show off in a way that’s really musical.

Although I think the greatest era of music is the late 60's to early 70's.

Least favorite: basically everything post-2000

Favorite - What I grew up with; late 80s and 90s.

Least - 2000 until today. Occasionally I’ll hear a new song I like and will check that band out.

Total agreement.

Make it 1965-1975 and I would kind of agree with you.

Totally disagree with you. Be glad I upvoted you after reading the first sentence and before reading the rest of the post.

As a whole the era(s) from 1967 to 1987 are never going to be touched. Hell, with the way music and the entire music business is today they may not even get breathed on.
