The school lost another 60 kids from last year's enrollment, down to 338. Anyone else think that Notre Dame will eventually lose their storied football program?

It’s surprising they’ve held on as long as they have. Acadiana is dying outside of Lafayette and about two other towns.

lol I don't think Louie Cook is the type that would encourage it.

Not sure if it’s in any volume, but Iota for one, possibly Church Point.

Iota used to lose players to ND. Has that changed?

Moreso Iota, probably the best public high school in the Parish. CP was never a huge contributor numbers wise for football, rather the players from there are usually good athletes.

Must be one of them Teurlings boys between 2000-2020 that was repeatedly beaten by ND and chalked it up to steroids and not the fact that Sonny isn’t nearly the coach his son is

And this. ND used to have a handful of families that would produce like 6 football players per family.

It’s a nationwide trend over the last 25 plus years. The demographic that sends their kids to private schools is not growing like other demographics and the rise of charter schools is taking a bite.

It’s affecting many schools with very few outliers. 12 years ago ND was 3a

And inflation.. same thing happened in oil bust of 80s

I find a hard time believing ND is losing numbers to charter schools. I’m not sure the demographics that go to ND are doing to charter schools. I think it’s more of people are choosing to enroll there kids in public school around Acadia Parish instead of paying tuition.
