just returned from there, we stayed at a Condo on the lake by the Desoto GC.

I played Isabella, I thought it was in very good condition, better than anything around the BTR area...there are NINE courses there..how do they all stay afloat?? HOA fees? How do all the courses rank?

They take their golf seriously there. Lots of rich retired northerners who bitch about every crack in the cart path make sure it is all maintained

I believe POA is $3-4k range annually

Courses are pretty full typically so I think they are financially sustainable. I would say top 3 are

Diamante (private)
Granada
Isabella

It made me realize how bad our golf is here.

This is what I was told was their oldest and worst course. I was impressed.

And they have a lot of property owners. I don’t want to quote an incorrect figure, but it’s an entity in itself.

I think it is Granada that has the almost 600 yard Par 5.

We played at Granada 3 weeks ago and it was incredible. Way better than majority of the stuff down here. We were on a bachelor trip and a few of the guys that dont play golf decided to just pay a couple bucks and ride a cart around and drink beer. The face the marshal made when he asked where the cart girl was hilarious. Apparently they dont do that in the village lol

They don’t have cart girls anywhere in Arkansas that I’ve played

Would agree with these. I will say this though - we take a summer golf trip every year and HSV was the spot in '22. Isabella had some weird arse wasp burrowing on almost all of the greens and it was annoying as hell.

Granada was awesome and Diamante was top notch. Enjoyed all 6 rounds we played out there. Ponce de Leon and Cortez were really nice as well.

My former boss and his wife moved there for retirement when his kid graduated from college. They love it. Golf pretty much 24/7. They are originally from Eastern Oklahoma so they have easy access to family as well. The way he sells it, it is like a utopia.

We strongly considering it once I hang up the cleats.

I believe this is true for some reason

Only place I have seen them is Pinnacle CC in Rogers. I've not played any of the elite Central AR courses tho

I don't know if I would go that far. Most of the restaurants around there close really early from what I can tell.

Well when most of the clientele rolls in for dinner at 4PM, you can close early.
