Thoughts on Cuckoo

Several times while watching this movie, I thought, this movie has to have been directed by a European. This movie feels to European for its own good.
Turns out I was right. Director is German
Do I think it’s marginally worth seeing. Yes. At the same time I found it weird and confusing and awkward in a lot of places.
Dan Steven’s is obviously amazing if his motivations don’t always make sense.
The main actress is good…. But honestly I feel like she was written from a dude trying to portray a moody distraught teenage girl and ends up writing a moody teenage boy instead. Her character is unlikable for most of the movie and I’m sick of seeing that in too many horror movies
The detective,,, I’m just so confused. Goes to much between being normal and unhinged
I don’t think the movie pushes the horror concepts far enough and I think the movie thought it explained more than it really did
Overall though this movie just glosses over stuff in a very weird European way.
The main character is 17 and just hanging out overnight with a detective.
Or the make out session between a woman whose supposed to be in her late 20s/30s and a 17 year old

Damn, I never caught that. I mean, but wasn't a core portion of the story impregnating women with their...uhh, goo? And why did the tranny boy then save the asian girl who isn't even her biological sister especially after she found out it was a cuckoo thing as well?
Just didn't make sense. I didn't mind the hanging with the older detective because I saw it more as a teen bored and wanting to do something interesting than sitting around in a boring alpine resort by herself.
The bike scene was awesome, but I wish they didn't show that in the trailer. oh well.

The only really interesting thing about that movie to me was 3/4 into it just as the chase scene happened in the lab. This family of morons walks in and sits down thinking they are in the right film, probably some kids movie or something. They walk into a dark theater and I guess thought this was a trailer and when shite starts flying you can hear the grandma say “cover your eyes!” to the kid as they noped the hell outta there. It truly was hilarious.

What was the purpose of the whole experiment anyway? Were the bird people planning to take over? It was never clearly explained. All he said was that it was about preservation of their species.

There were some problem people in my theater. Two punks seriously just fricking around and blatantly talking the entire time because they were waiting for someone to pick them up. They left mainly 20 minutes in before I was about to go and try and get them thrown out.
There was also a sweet girl with them who stayed longer. As she left, she told the entire movie theater “I hope y’all enjoy your movie” lol

Which wouldn’t that imply he is a part of their species? And why did the Asian lady have problems? Didn’t they leave? None of it really made sense honestly.
