With Waddle as my WR 3 / Flex, I went pretty RB heavy on my bench. Looking to add another WR to have another flex option in case waddle struggles.

Pick up one of the following available or any others?

Rome Odunze - I feel a breakout game coming eventually
Juan Jennings - Not super convinced he will be involved enough
Tyler Johnson - also doubt the targets
Alec Pierce - I feel like he could just keep producing

Surprised Odunze is available and I actually like Jennings to make an impact for the niners. They have to throw to someone and he has the versatility to run some of those CMC/Deebo plays. You may not remember, but he was a very highly rated dual-threat QB coming out of high school.

Jennings was getting a lot of looks in the first game. Seemed like he was the read before Aiyuk.

I was surprised too so I had to add Odunze for the long run

Odunze will be a good player but he’s splitting target with two other good receivers in a bad offense.

There isn’t an offense in the league that can support 3 wide receivers on a weekly basis. The closest we’ve seen in recent years is when Tyler Boyd was a fringe flex play in Cincinnati. If you pickup Odunze and actually have to play him, you’re just playing Roulette that A) the offense actually clicks and B) he’s the guy it clicks through and not Moore or Allen.

Jennings is the best “start Sunday” pick and Pierce is by far the better lottery ticket. He’s WR5 through two weeks and his strength matches Richardsons addiction, chunking it deep.

If just looking for Sunday… and not long term

I think there are two guys I’d be researching this week as deeper streaming plays that don’t burn faab or waiver orders

Thielen
Tutu

I haven’t seen a route from either this year- but full time roles, plus recent history with their veteran qbs has some positive narrative

My gut is one of those guys knocks down 4-5 catches and a score this week and I’d be digging in on their situations a little bit to try be to pick one

Agree with the third wide receiver situation. I guess I was mostly thinking long term if he ends up being the second best pass option in the offense.

I do like Pierce a lot, if I add him and drop odunze do I start him over waddle?

I would eliminate Pierce and Johnson immediately, target share favored Robinson last week and I think it will be even moreso now, and the Rams are struggling in general with O-line depth.

Josh Downs is coming back likely this week and some reports were low key suggesting he may be the no.1 over there as far as overall usage.

Jennings may pop for a few games while the 49ers skill players are recovering for a few games, not much value when Deebo and Tricky Rick come back.

I believe Odunze is best overall long term play
