Judge’s time as the GOAT was short-lived

As usual, he disappears as GOATani surpasses him

It’s like each year GOATani focuses on one part of the game and masters it.

Next year will be batting average. At which point he may even rival Will Clark.

I'm a huge, long time Yankee fan. And have never felt that Judge was the better player. That does not make Judge a bad player. I'm just enjoying both.

Judge has more homers, more RBI, more doubles, a higher OBP, higher SLG, obviously a higher OPS, higher batting average by .30 points, way more walks, and a 9.9 WAR compared to Ohtani’s 7.8. And he plays a really good CF (which is factored into his WAR).

Judge is having an objectively much better season than Ohtani. All Ohtani has on him are stolen bases and the novelty of being the 1st 50/50 guy, but SBs are easier to get than ever right now. Ohtani’s having a great year, but he’s getting bonus points he doesn’t deserve because he CAN pitch. But he’s not, so that can’t be a factor when judging his 2024 season, which, again, is objectively worse than Judge’s.

Melt? I’m a Braves fan. I have no dog in this fight. frick the Dodgers and the Yankees. I appreciate both of their greatnesses, but don’t prefer either one over the other. But objectively, this is probably Ohtani’s 4th best overall season, because he hasn’t had any added value on the mound or in the field.

Not his fault because he literally can’t, but that doesn’t change the fact that Judge is having a superior ‘24 season. And he still would be if he were just a DH this year too. He has better overall offensive numbers in just about every category.

I got in an argument with someone on twitter where he said Judge is better than Ohtani. Not one sane person on the planet thinks Judge is a better player than Ohtani.

Of course this person was a Yankees fan so I just completely wasted my time.

THE JUDGE literally leads Ohtani in almost every single statistic, but this board’s hatred and jealousy of him and the Most Successful Franchise in the History of Organized Sports the New York Yankees has people blinded by delusion that a DH is better baseball player than a baseball player.

Who is arguing that Judge is better than Ohtani as an overall player?

Judge is a better hitter, but Ohtani's pitching abilities set him over the top.

Post a link of his best pitching performance this year and I’ll admit that Shohei is better than THE JUDGE.

Ok, this season Judge has been a better baseball player. I thought we were talking overall. FWIW I love judge and have had him in a dynasty baseball league since he was a minor leaguer.

That’s fair. Shohei is probably my favorite player outside of the Yankees. I’m not trying to take away from anything he’s accomplished this year or in his career. What he’s done this year truly is historic, including the greatest single regular season game in baseball history.

The hate for Judge is unwarranted, yet is the popular thing here. Judge is better at: hitting, power, defense. Ohtani is better at SB which has become insanely easy. He is a pitcher, but not in 2024. Ohtani has more talent around him, which means easier at bats and fewer walks. People get turned on by Ohtani because he can pitch and had a couple of good games.

You were talking about Judge getting 60 HRs & I told you Ohtani is more likely to pass him up, 53-52 now
