Is now a good time to replace an old weathered bird house? I know it has had inhabitants at one point but, I'm not sure if they've relocated.

Yes. It is a very good time.

Thanks. Trying to avoid disturbing the bird family that may be living in there.

Generally, the only birds that would still be using a house now would be House Sparrows. I am going to be kicking the last remaining ones out of mine this weekend and lowering it until late February.

I have 5 in my back yard. This is the last one that i need to replace.
1 got taken over by a squirrel who decided to rip the stuffing out of a few patio chair cushions.
1 got knocked down by Francine.
The other 2 were so bad off even a homeless bird wouldn't look at it.
Moved the squirrel house to the other side of the yard and put squirrel baffles on the other 4.

Finally got the last bird house up to bird neighborhood HOA regulations.
