Definitely the scariest fricking movie I’ve seen in a long time. It’s pretty unrelenting.

It’s been awhile since I saw the first but this feels like a much much much bigger movie in every way. But especially the gore is way way upped.

Overall this movie is just fricking anxiety inducing. It’s like the Uncut Gems of horror movies.

The main actress is outstanding.

But yeah, I’m creeped the frick out

I enjoyed the first one. Very unsettling.

Only issue I had was the end where you see the demon. Felt like it took me out of the movie.

I remember the plot of the first one and I remember it was also creepy. But I only really remember like 1 scare. But this one was viscerally like holy shite this would suck. The stuff they do with the closet people… frick that shite

Also, I know the first one was bleak in its one way but this one is just super bleak. That’s a bit of an issue. I don’t want to put spoilers but they kinda have some holes they dig themself from a narrative standpoint.

I will spoil one thing. There’s shite stained whitey tighties

The first movie was great, I’m glad to hear the second is even better.

Non-Story Spoilers

—————————————————

The demon is too powerful. We get too much “what’s real and what’s in Sky’s head? The demon is too powerful. And I know that’s the point (you can’t escape trauma) but if the entire movie is a mindfrick, what’s the point?

It was a fun time at the movies. Naomi Scott was great. I didn't care much for the last act, but solid horror film overall.

I really hate that. Same for dream sequences. It’s usually just for cheap jump scares. But also just hate the concept period especially if overused.

It’s like in the Mission Impossible movies where they can make themselves up to look and speak like other characters. You always have to keep in mind they might be tricking you.

If you were reading a book and they spent quite a few pages on a scene only to tell you it was all in the character’s head wouldn’t you feel like they just wasted your time?

it definitely felt like a way bigger movie. Totally agree. also agree that Naomi Scott was absolutely fantastic.

While I really did like the movie, I liked the first one more. This one has sequences that went on for too long and a 25min "in her head" sequence is just far too fricking long.

The scares were there. some were a little too cheap. but they really did amp it up.

The first one felt way more grounded and intimate. but I did like it. I just wish it added more than what we got from the first. It was kind of just a retelling with another person. nothing really evolved story wise.

The first one was the most well put together horror movie I've seen in a while. I am not a horror movie expert so take it with a grain of salt, but I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to watching the second one at some point.

Alright yall, now, I’m a horror movie freak. I love em all, have seen more than I can count and should probably admit. I was actually going through my Letterboxd and it’s a bit sad to be honest the sheer number.

That being said, I have not had as good of a time watching any horror flick in the past maybe 5-10 years as I had watching Smile 2.

The meteoric leap in storytelling, unrelenting scares, edge of your seat tension, is difficult to really describe.

This is a film that demands to be seen in the theaters in the best possible quality you can. The sound design, the scares, the setups for the scares, etc. It’s just on another level from the first.

Do yourselves a favor, watch this on a 7 o clock show with a packed house on a Friday night. This is one of those movies to experience with others as it will surely leave you talking about it after the fact.

Just an incredible film. Best horror movie of the year for me. So if yall liked my recommendation on Strange Darling, take my word for this one as well.

While it would probably help to see the first one, you probably don’t necessarily need to see it to still get the impact from this one.

10/10, Joe Bob says, “Check it out”

I was really skeptical bc I did not like the first one at all. I really enjoyed this one. Glad they departed from the formula & went a different direction.

I don’t think I would have quite phrased it like that lol. This is formulated very very similar to the first one. I think this movie just succeeds much better in every way other than how the last act pulls together

Hard pass lol but to each his own

Just got out, I think it was over hyped a tad. All my friends said it’s better and scarier than the first. I thought it was good but the first was better and scarier. I think that’s because I went into the 1st one thinking it would be stupid and it surprised the hell outta me. This one I kinda already knew what I was getting into and they showed most of the scares in the trailer

LOVED the ending, however. Before the end I had it pinned as just ok but the ending made it good. Curious to see where they go with the 3rd one. All those people are going to be possessed now?

Do you have to have watched the first one to get what's going on? I read nothing but good things on the 2nd movie, just curious.

Watched this last night. Was very excellent. Really liked the first one, but this one was way better to me. The actress in this one (i don't remember her name without looking it up) was MUCH better actress than Kevin Bacon/Kyra Sedgwick's daughter as well.

I’d say it’s probably better if you hadn’t seen the first one in some ways.
