Anyone else have trouble hearing on HBO max? I’m not having any troubles on any other channels. Just on Max? Specifically the Penguin and the new Dune series

I think that’s just an hbo/ prestige tv thing
OG Game of thrones would sometimes require a 99 on the volume during the dialogue, then the action would pop off and blow out the speaker and constantly flip between the two. I honestly think this played a part in using subtitles for everything becoming as popular as it has

I watched the USMNT’s game on max on my phone yesterday and the volume balancing was so wonky I just ended up muting it

Check the sound settings. Sometimes one can be surround sound or some other incorrect setting.

For me (Roku) it’s not uncommon for the audio on Max (only) to fizzle out especially after a couple hours and I have to back out restart and it’s normal. Used to happen more frequently. Never happens at startup.
