I was at Drago's at the Hilton for a business function last night. The oysters were phenomenal. Huge and salty. Best I've had in quite some time.

What's wrong with me saying it? As long as I don't hear something like "Tiny and bland" I figure I'm okay. Don't have to be the best, just not the worst.

If you didn't try the charbroiled you missed out. They are the inventors of it and the ONLY place I will eat them. All others are poor imitations.

are oysters only judged by their size? because the taste is the same.

Had them both raw and charbroiled. Ate at least three dozen combined. But my comments were with respect to the raw oysters. They were really good.

No, the flavor of oysters varies with changes in the water conditions. Right now the conditions are producing oysters that are both large and tasty.

I've gotten a sack each of the past two weekends. Oysters are running about as good as ever right now.

We ate dragos a few weeks ago and everything on our plates was amazing. I got seafood platter and my gf got the lobster. The crab au gratin appetizer was amazing as well.

Had some charbroiled at Drago's last week, then walked across the street to Crazy Johnnie's and had the filet and some crazy potatoes and dippin' bread. All of it was amazing, as usual.

That is one badass combination. I really am going to think about doing something like this for the next date night with the wife. Would work even better on Tuesday night when Crazy Johnnie's sells all of their wine for half price. With the dipping bread being only $2, steaks $14, and wine for $10, that is one hell of a great cheap night.

+2 That is my usual routine for Metairie. Those BBQ shrimp at Crazy Johnnie's are awesome as well.

I was in NOLA for New Years and a buddy recommended Dragos' charbroiled oysters.

They were amazing.

The best I ever had. I just wish I had about 75 on my plate rather than 12.

A dozen goes way too fast.

I had them cater a party a while back. they pulled the huge pitt on a truck and parked it in the back yard. I probably ate five dozen that night.

Never thought about pulling that off, thanks for the good idea. It's on next time I am in Fat City.
