My 12 year old self was watching that game as I did every Monday night. Had no idea who Lennon was at the time but had heard of the Beatles.

Stevie Wonder played a concert in Oakland that night. He found out about it before taking the stage, but kept it to himself until near the end, when he revealed it to the crowd. Truly insane how much slower info traveled back then.

They'll neva be another John Lennon....one of a kind. Never afraid to answer a question with what he perceived to be the truth. Ain't none of those people around today.

I remember watching it live with my dad and the neighbor and how I was making them laugh by making comments about Yoko Ono

I knew I had a gift

The band he founded and fronted changed the world and music as we know it. And is still doing so today.

He was the voice of R & R from 62-67 and arguably the most popular human on the planet during that timeframe. He had his demons and was far from perfect but he had turned his life around by the time he died and his legacy lives on.

RIP John.

And, he enjoyed it so fing much that he supported causes that were part of that song. But, just keep being a little snowflake bitch in the interim so all can see what you are.
