Wife and I are flying to San Francisco on a Wednesday morning, then flying to LA Friday. Cruising out of Long Beach on Saturday at 4.
Question is, for the day in LA (we get into LAX at 1130) should we rent a car for that day and return on long Beach next day or just Uber? Rental will be about $250 after parking, gas, etc. just not sure if it's worth it for one day. I've never used Uber in LA.

Do you have plans on where you are going? LA is really spread out. I could see you spending $250 or more in Ubers if you had several things to do. The ride to Long Beach will be over $50

Wife wants to see the Hollywood sign, Santa Monica Pier, nothing much more than that.

You'll probably spend less on Uber then

I would get car
Ubering to just those two things might be more then the car rental

You can see the Hollywood sign from West Hollywood without having to drive out to the hills
