Just got the latest Rouses store ad and they are advertising boneless Prime Beef Brisket for $3.97 a lb. starting on the 18th and running until next Tuesday night.

I'll pick one up tomorrow and brine it to make a corned beef for New Years Day's meal of corned beef and cabbage and also use a hunk to smoke and make pastrami.

Good price for prime. Costco is currently $4.69 I think.

As much as I like HEB, they don't really have sales. Every day low price concept.

HEB- $4.46
Walmart- $4.26 although can't say I've ever bought meat there

Been eating A LOT of pork. HEB has whole loins in the 8lb range for $2/lb.

With a $25 purchase. Not that spending $25 on other groceries is some huge amount or anything though.

EDIT: The $25 purchase wasn't for Rouses

Where do you see this? The ad I got doesn't say anything about a $25 purchase.

I don't see any $25 condition on the online ad either

I just looked at it again and had my stores wrong. The $25 purchase was for the $5.97/lb rib roast at Albertsons

I just purchased a Select brisket for $1.89 a pound at Market Street. I have found that by injecting the brisket with beef tallow I make from trimmings that it is just as juicy, tender and tasty as a 'prime' brisket.

Tom Thumb, which also owns Albertsons, has rib roast at $4.97 lb.

Albertsons actually owns Tom Thumb, but there are no Tom Thumb locations in Louisiana.
