Outstanding article that hits all the right notes - hopefully this can help heal our differences

Lets all laugh at these Never Trump losers

quote:

For all their work to elect Kamala Harris, Never Trump Inc. ultimately proved a millstone around the Democratic Party’s neck — and Democrats couldn’t be more bitter. “Liz Cheney was an electoral fiasco for Kamala Harris,” blasted the Nation a week after Election Day. “The notion that spending day after day with Liz Cheney—who publicly trumpeted an endorsement from her father, former vice president Dick Cheney, and other right-wing Republicans—would benefit Harris turned out to be a damaging distraction for Democrats…Every minute that Kamala Harris spent with Liz Cheney was a colossal waste of the candidate’s time

If Democrats opened their eyes instead of being mislead by the mainstream media. They would come to realize that they have more in common with MAGA than what they were lead to believe. The only problem is their arrogance and elitist attitude won't allow them to evolve.

Yes, populism is normally a leftist movement. This time around if was packaged with some traditionally conservative themes (prolife, anti-woke, pro-growth ect.) to sell it to republicans. MAGA was quite successful in doing this, in large part due to the fact that the democrats ran some pathetically weak candidates during a time of politcal and social unrest.

The Cheneys are essentially Democrats now.

No returns accepted.

I love that Kamala lost every state she appeared with Liz Cheney.

Based on what? The veil was lifted back in 2001. I’m surprised more people didn’t see it.

Nah.

The right has steadily been becoming dominated by populism since before Trump was elected.

Ain't no "this time around." "This time around" is just when it hit critical mass.

This is the new Republican Party.

I'm not really seeing this. Maybe we define populism differently?

Yet it still contains the leftist mechanisms.

Its a hijacking of the Republican party. We have two left wing economic parties now.

which republican party jethro? the rockefeller republicans tried to paint reagan as a populist. i've never understood why policies that were popular have been labeled as populism as if government policies by their nature should be unpopular. the only president in my life time to raise taxes on the overwhelming majority of working americans was george h.bush. he raised the top marginal rate on ordinary income by 12% while cutting it on capital gain's by 40% and that proved to be unpopular.
