Ordering IQF Shrimp Online

We usually order from Biloxi Shrimp Company. Their shrimp are excellent. They're out of the peeled deveined 16/20 count shrimp and don't know when they'll get more in. They've been out of those for a good while.
I haven't found a LA company that compares. What I have found are shrimp frozen in 5 lb blocks and that won't work.
Any other suggestions?

I always buy Ocean Select, either block or IQF, but I don’t know if they have online sales.

Thanks. Very few options there and not what I'm looking for.
Here's a picture of the Biloxi Shrimp Co shrimp. IQF. Nothing stuck together. You can take out 5 or whatever number you need. Very convenient to have on hand especially for my Mom who will suddenly decide she wants some shrimp at times when it's not feasible to go get fresh and then have to peel them etc... We can grab the amount she'll eat and get it done in no time. We're out of our supply and she's making a list of shrimp dishes she wants.

Our Brookshire’s Grocery carries Gulf IQF shrimp in various sizes. Not sure if they sell online though.

Is there a certain brand for peeled, deveined tail off shrimp?

I know there is, but I don't recall it. Try looking at the Brookshire's website. They do carry a peeled IQF shrimp. I bought them two weeks ago.

Thanks. I've been looking but don't see the size I'd like. They're mostly pretty small. The 16/20 count isn't peeled. Might just have to get them and peel them until we can up our supply or order the next size smaller until they replenish.

Why not local?

That's okay. We don't have much in the ways of sources for good IQF shrimp or even the fresh. Our only seafood shop is closed until some time in February and the guy who sells them fresh from the Gulf is off for a while or I'd just get some good fresh shrimp and deal with them for a while.
I found some with only the tails on at Texas Gold and I'll probably order some of those until Biloxi stocks up again.

Does IQF shrimp with the shell removed have the same texture as ones that freeze with the shell on?

I haven’t bought any with the shell on, but I wouldn’t think there’s a difference. Preparations may matter. I don’t boil these. If I need them cooked for a salad, for example, I roast them in the oven and come out great. I use them in soups, stuffed dishes, shrimp and grits etc…

I ordered shrimp from Texas Gold on Jan 6. They are located in Port Isabel and Brownsville, TX and have been in business for decades. The order shipped on the 8th, but it was shipped from Independence, MO. It has been sitting in KS since the 9th. The last date on which it was supposed to have been delivered was yesterday. I have a bad feeling we are going to get defrosted shrimp.
There is nothing on their website that indicates they ship from some other state. I assume there are weather issues, but had I thought they would ship from some other location, I would have waited to order. I didn't expect an issue from their location to Louisiana. No weather issues here other than rain on some days.
Calling them tomorrow.

Paul Piazza is one brand Brookshires sells. Bought 5# sack 16-20 IQF peeled/deveined right before Christmas. No idea if they sell to public
Note: They may have been 21-25 vs 16-20, regardless they were nice size

Where do you live? If you are close to the pizza place I can help you out.

I'm not close, but thank you so much for the offer! Very kind.

We can get those here, but the only size is 43/50. We can also get Tony Chachere's, but the largest are also small.
Hopefully, Biloxi Shrimp Co will start getting shrimp again soon. They're always very good and never a shipping issue. They ship very quickly.
