Before watching the video where do you think your favorite budget knife brand will place. I love this guy’s videos btw.

quote:

Buck, Gerber, Old Timer, ICON, Civivi, Boker, SOG, Zero Tolerance, Kershaw, Kizer, Steinbruke, Crescent, CJRB, Smith & Wesson, Mossy Oak, AOSILEY, Albatross, GW and CRKT.
Knives compared for initial sharpness and then sharpness after significant use. Quality of blade locks and knife blade-to-frame pivot point construction compared. Knife blade tip also compared for durability.

ETA: He put a couple high dollar knives in there for comparison.

Civivi is a great option if it's truly a budget knife.

I love my Benchmades, but for a budget knife, I really like my CRKT.

These days, it is hard to beat Civivi for overall selection and fairly consistent F&F. I do love Kershaw as well. But I tend to only buy traditional knives over modern.

If it’s got a D2 blade and it’s not fragile as a toothpick it’ll work

I have a Civivi and a Kizer I go back and forth carrying, and I like them both. I love a good $40-$60 budget knife. I always research the steel the blade is made out of before purchasing.

Kizer

Civivi

I have a buddy at work who is obsessed with knives, and has thousands of dollars invested in his knife collection, some of which are $400+

I laugh at him when he shows me a new one that he paid like $250+ for that was the exact same blade steel and G10 handle material as one of my $50 knives.

My most expensive would be a Spyderco Polestar which I paid $90 for.

Spyderco

Same here and if you like those also take a look at Petrified Fish.

bought my first Civivi a couple years ago and was so impressed, especially for the price, that I went right back and got 3 more. Followed the same pattern after my first PF.

Well for any of his videos just scroll to the end to see the summary.

The Civivi, Icon, and SOG finished 2,3,4. One of the expensive knives finished first. The other high dollar knife would have been first if it had been sharper out of the box. Surprised by the Icon, I may need to grab one from Harbor Freight.

see a lot of Civivi fans here, WE Knives the parent company of Civivi also makes Sencut as a sister company to Civivi - check 'em out

"sister company", my impression is Sencut is the little sister of Civivi

I haven't added one of these yet .... yet....soon.

My favorite knife I own is a CASE Amber Bone Mini Trapper. I rarely carry it, though. It mostly just sits in my gun case. IMO its the best looking knife ever made.
