I am undergoing a renovation to include replacement of most appliances, all interior doors and vanities. I am in a quandary as to how/where to dispose of various usable material without causing headaches for my contractor. Two hvac units (2 & 3 ton), refrigerator, toilets, tub, vanities, interior doors (one exterior), various light fixtures. All working condition but nothing special. Does habitat for humanity come excavate stuff like this?

My contractor can certainly dispose of and may recycle some of it. Just looking for highest, best use.

I believe that they will come pick stuff up, and I'd just call they. When we did ours house in 2010-2011 time frame, I remember them picking up doors, trim work, etc.

You can put it on the curb and post a curb alert on Nextdoor. Did this quite a bit at my old place and stuff was usually gone within the hour. Not sure if it’ll work as effectively in a rural area or in an HOA where folks might get their panties wadded up about it.

HfH Restore does not accept used toilets….I found that out only about 3 weeks ago. The guy said that they took them at one point, but nobody wants them.

In my neighborhood, if I put ANY appliance out to the curb, it is usually gone in a few hours time.

As for doors and structural stuff, you can drop that off at one of those recycling places and they'd repurpose it.

Got any friends with hunting/fishing camps???? If so, they'd be someone to ask.
