Way back in 2001 Callaway produced the Hawkeye VFT-

I've amassed a bit of a random collection of clubs in my first few months in the golf world trying to 'fit' myself. I have a 5w and 7w in this and they are by far my favorite club to hit. Maybe its the titanium sound and feel...I don't know.

Anybody else remember these and love them as much as I do? Anyone found a modern version with the same feel that you'd recommend I try? Evidently the technology has come so far in the past 20+ years that there are not-so-insignificant carry, speed, and spin losses....

Loved those back in the day as well, the OG ones were better than the second models though if I remember correctly

The Hawkeye irons with graphite shafts are to this day the longest irons I've ever owned. I used to carry that 3 iron 245 playing with them in high school. Switched to Mizuno blades after that and lost 20 yards distance on my 3I.

I like hitting these things so much I think i'm going to reconfigure everything else around the yardages of the 5w and 7w.

This.

I used to just roll with the 3 iron as a fairway finder. Sometimes I would just roll the whole round with it off the tee.

I may search eBay for one.

Long as frick and accurate.

Yep used that driver for probably 8 years. Had Callaway X-12 irons I used even longer.
