Got a free couple of days this week and freshwater is my usual but I got a 22' century I'm trying to learn more salt water. I had a couple of jobs cancel so gonna go run it some.

Distance isn't a big deal but really don't want to drive more than 2 hours from Covington.

Thinking about Delacroix but I don't know dick about salt water.

I have no advice for you, but good luck

I’m fishing Big Lake Friday and Sabine Saturday.

Tough with weather situation. I would say somewhere where you could get cover if needed.

Would re think Sabine, after the mud shake I saw crossing it on I10 would bet the entire lake is toast. Now if you’re fishing outside of the jetty’s it may work but wind is key.

I don't fish that side. I fish mostly Grand isle/Golden meadow area. But maybe call island Marina and see if anyone is catching fish in lake Catherine.

Cow bayou at Mauriceville is close to flood stage 17’ and rolling 1,100 cfs. Sabine was out of its banks yesterday at 2:00 when I crossed into Tx. Beaumont has been getting hammered with rain.
I wouldn’t drive 85 miles to deep bayou but ymmv.

What would you suggest.

We’re down at a camp in Grand Chenier this weekend.

Plan was Big Lake Friday, Sabine Saturday, and Mermentau river sunday

Play it by ear since you’re goi g to BL Friday. There’s still birds picking but you have to get lucky and find a set with keepers. I have an afternoon trip tomorrow, it’s been an afternoon bite.

I'm really wanting to make a trip to big lake. But worried about all the rain down there.
