What should I expect to pay to remove carpet and replace with LVT (I have the material - I need the labor)? Ascension Parish.

Total: 362.24 sq. ft. or 160.34 linear footage

Also, any recommendations on who I could potentially use that will do the job right?

Wha? I’ve had a few so my math may not be working , but if you’re telling me your material is 2.25’ wide, it’s probably going to cost more.

$3-5 sq ft for labor + whatever little extra they'd charge for removing the carpet.

Don't be surprised if the concrete isn't flat and could use a bunch of work grinding the highs and filling the lows. Carpet covers up a plethora of the concrete finishers' sins.

Or you could just have them throw it down without any prep like 95% of people do.
Just know you might feel hollow spots and possibly seams pulling apart over time from the flexing.

$1600 is what I am being quoted.

This includes moving furniture out of two rooms, removing the carpet (and hauling it off), sanding/patching the floor, installation of the new wood laminate, and painting the quarter rounds.

Padding is separate - 4 rolls are needed (100 sq. ft).

I feel like this is a very fair price, and I have seen this person's work before.

I sure as frick wouldn't want to do all that for $1600

My thoughts exactly, which is why I believe it's a fair price. It's a 2-day job, and does require a lot of manual labor.

Its good they have a solid reputation because I'd assume that job would be something more like 2-3k

Grinding and filling a floor is no easy or simple task. Diamond grinding wheels aren't cheap. You could spend a day just doing this in two rooms. And they don't know how uneven the floor is until they remove the carpet.

yeah jump on that price and maybe give them some modellos at the end.

Not sure why they just wouldn't use some bags of self floor leveler. Mix it up thin and let it do it's work.

Simpler to grind a rogue high spot than try and bring everything around it up to its height. Leveler isn't cheap either.
