Do you worry about fake flyrods on ebay?

I've got my eye on a few nicer ones - Winston and Hardy - does anybody know if fake flyrods on ebay are a problem? I know this is a huge problem with flashier luxury accessories like watches, glasses, pens, etc...

Trident fly fishing has a bunch of used Winston air 2 max for sale right now

Look at the seller history and their other listings. Should be a good indicator whether or not it’s legit.

I don't flyfish but I've been messing with ebay for 20+ years.
I'd say you should ABSOLUTELY be concerned about fake rods. The amount of fake shite on ebay right now is wild. As someone else said, look at how long they have been a member and number of feeback and also if they have sold similar stuff. Maybe don't risk it if they have sold 121,453 pokemon cards and this is their first expensive fly pole.
The savings would have to be quite a bit for me to consider it. I'd rather spend $500 on something I know is legit than $350 on possibly junk.

Who is going to refinish a flyrod? I'd be more worried about the 1896-1905 Hardy Perfect reels, etc for fakes. Fake fly rods just seem like too much trouble unless you are looking for a collectable over something to wet a line.
I've purchased numerous Fenwick glass rods, Sage graphite, and Loomis rods that were barely used for discount on the dollar. So what if the cork was soiled, etc. Just make sure it looks like it is good shape, that the guides are pristine and the wrappings are in good order. Also make sure the ferrules aren't cracked, and you should be good to go.
