Current or all time? I think the all timer is Poulter.

Cantlay for this year
Doug Sanders or Rickie for all time USA?
Monty is hands down the choice for Europe; Westwood may also be in consideration.

Poulter was a pretty good but not great player outside of Ryder Cups.
Three Tour wins - including 2 WGC’s - and a handful of lesser tier European wins. Only finished in the top 5 of majors three times in his entire career. Highest world rank he ever got to was 5th and that was very brief. He’s basically Max Homa with a great Ryder Cup record.
Westwood and Montgomerie were truly elite players in their primes.
