Chen Caille Comb reeds

Have an old Chen Caille with the original Ace Comb reed. Was playing with tuning it and the reed finally gave out on me; snapped right down the middle.
Anyone know how to make a new one out of a comb? I’m sure I could buy a few combs and get it figured out but thought I’d check here first. Want to avoid just putting a coyote reed in it if I can.
TIA

I've pulled my insert out of the barrel and looked at mine's reed but have never touched it or adjusted it's placement on the sound board since the old man tuned it up in his shop back in 1995ish.
I can say this, mine is not symmetrical and you can see the scratches where it was filed down.
I'd think it could be replicated with the comb, a belt sander and finally some hand sanding to get it close to what they made.
Sounds like a fun project.

Holler at Murry Weiss on the refugeforums, he’s got all the reeds and knowledge.
