Me and my crew are planning for an April pilgrimage from Lucca to Rome. Anyone done this route that can share insights?

I recommend reading Timothy Egans “ a pilgrimage to eternity”
He’s a great author anyway ( the worst hard time, the big burn to name a couple) but he and his daughter walked it . And he tells of the history and the stops they made on it.
I think it is a very appropriate read for you and hope you have a great and enlightening time
