New Portal CB Target | McNeese CB Javon Davis

Could be a great addition to the list of DBs below. This will be one to monitor. Has played over 2,000 career snaps.
I like our chances seeing as he is leaving from in-state school McNeese.
Will need to fend off Texas A&M & USC to ultimately land him.

I like the 1-2 of Pickett/Woodland going into next year. I think 1 experienced backup + one young guy to fill out the room will help. I like what I saw from JaKeem Jackson at the end of year.
At safety, you have your Star in Spears, SS in Cooley, will need to add a true FS unless Baker thinks Thomas or Spears take that role and Jimcoily plays Star. I think Jimcoily moves to off-ball backer full time IMO.

Jimcoily would play Star over Spears. Spears and Cooley are your two safeties up top unless someone from portal is signed to play there.

I think that will depend on what Baker wants there. Does he want to stay with more of a true linebacker there or safety? We played spears closer to LOS a decent amount, I do think he can play FS and probably will end up there unless we bring a guy in.

Yea he looks the part out there. You do wonder if he gets a crack at off ball linebacker this spring. Listed 6’3 220 as a true fresh
