The bad news is the odds of her being a Kathleen Kennedy are extremely high.
The good news is that Nintendo of America has almost no actual power and the Japanese still completely run the entire operation.
Let's pray it stays that way because he day Sony handed over control to the Americans was a dark day for Playstation. It's pretty much been a shite show over there since.

I don't think Japan would tolerate that.

Didn’t even realize Doug Bowser was retiring. I feel like he did nothing in his 6 years. I miss the Reggie/Iwata days, even though they were not the best for their business, they were a lot of fun.

Luckily there's nothing left for her to ruin.

Can't think of a single industry, brand, or product that ever got better as women moved into leadership.
On the other hand I can point to a gazillion things that aggressively got worse quickly.

Bowser leaves and they couldn't find a woman named "Zelda" or "Peach"?

Whoever posted that tweet dos not know what a board of directors does…
Being on a board of directors is as cushy a job as possible and does maybe a week’s work every month for several hundred thousand dollars. To quote someone who”I work 4 days a month , 2 days reading reports and two days attending meetings and opining on what I hear in those meetings…”
The entire point of a board of directors is to bring in tangentially related c-suite level persons to provide oversight. Hence why when you look at any company’s elections, they always bring up the career of where the board member sits. I.E. someone on the board of directors for an airline might have been the COO of a logistics company.
Edited because I meant to say they only do 4 days of work a month, not a week lol

She has no real power so I’m not concerned. She will do and say what Japan tells her to or she will be fired

This drip drip drip of bullshite into Nintendo games has been noticeable over the last few years.
Switch 2 "miis" do that bullshite where your gender is simple a shape silhouette without a title. It's a way of doing "Body Type A/B" bullshite without making it as obvious.
In fact a lot of Japanese companies are starting to do this. It's not nearly as horrible as the Western devs but you can clearly see their leadership THINKS they have to do this.
