Watching the press conference on CNN (for the laughs). They continuously refer to Hegseth as the Defense Secretary and call the department the DOD. Seems they reuse to acknowledge the renaming.

I have no criticism , this sounds like a perfect mission, extracted a Nation’s leader and his wife, alive….and they knew it was coming…Damn, the Intel, performance, strategic hits…regardless of your thoughts on why, that’s movie badarse worthy

He issued an EO designating a "secondary" name for each, and he directed his administration to utilize the "secondary" terms exclusively.
That EO is not binding upon anyone outside his administration.
