Right now, yes they can. But currently, UGA is suing a player for doing so.

Of course he can, its America. These are just basic service contracts.

the Notre Dame QB committed to Nebraska backed out and changed to Kentucky last night

We don’t know if he will get another year granted. LSU and other teams simply can’t wait for a decision so they moved on.

I know it's happened before, but I'm not sure to the specifics of it. Regardless, we're not waiting to see if Chambliss gets a waiver.

He did back out of the commitment. He hadn't signed anything yet, though.

I believe you, brother. I just figured they couldn't have contracts restricting a player to a school.

If contracts are now legally binding, that sounds like a step in the right direction to me.
