During the transport portal before the season, I commented that the transfers McMen were signing were from schools that didn’t have the talent for SEC competition. I said that LSU should recruit from “real”Division I schools. Got tons of downvotes.
Do you think my thoughts were so misplaced now?

The talent level is enough to be in the tournament the coach is not.

Aday Mara, a 7-3, 5* Center stayed in the portal until the last possible minute. We should’ve been after him and guys like him but we didn’t recruit him. He’s now the starting Center for the best team in the country.

Todd Golden won the National Championship last season with a roster comprised of guys that transferred from places like Iona, Marshall, Belmont, FAU, Chattanooga, along with multiple 3 star recruits. However, he had an actual strategy in building his roster and a could coach the players he had.
McMahon just offers anyone he can and hopes they come without any real regard for how the pieces fit. That’s because he’s just going to run the same thing regardless of the roster. Whether it works or not is really just up to chance
