It’s not tampering if we contacted the agent and not player directly. Loopholes my friends

You think LSU wouldn't pay an extra million dollars to get their QB? Thats probably where the rumored 6 million figure is coming from. 5 million regular contract and a million for legal fees.

How do you even come up with a number for the damages?

Right and LSUs offer will include that. That is why the rumored $$$ is so high.

AI provided an interesting bit of info on these types of clauses:
quote:
Key aspects of a liquidated damages clause:
Purpose: To compensate the non-breaching party for anticipated losses when calculating actual damages is difficult or impossible.
Common Uses: Frequently found in construction contracts (for delays), service agreements, and non-compete clauses.
Enforceability: Courts enforce LD clauses if they represent a genuine, fair attempt to estimate future losses, not if they are excessive or designed to punish (which makes them an unenforceable penalty).
Calculation: Can be a fixed sum, a formula (e.g., % of contract value), or a combination, determined during contract negotiation.
Benefits: Offers clarity and efficiency, deterring breaches and streamlining dispute resolution by setting a clear financial consequence upfront.

Yeah, ideally we need to have a lawyer get ahold of the contract and spell it out for us. Maybe Tom Mars tomorrow

Way too much excitement when we don't even know if LSU is the one being seriously pushed here yet. What's stopping someone like Miami or Oregon from saying, "we changed our mind on Sam let's go all in on this guy". I'd calm myself before anything is confirmed. This guy will be coveted by everyone in the portal not just LSU.

Aren’t all players under some type of NIL contracts when they decide to hit portal? Also, can’t any school reach out to agents and player decides to hit portal during open portal? I am curious cause i dont know rules!

No Contact for Williams; he already knows where he's going.

Most states aren’t enforcing noncompete clauses that prohibit you from working in another state across the country with no direct competition.
Washington also requires liquidation clauses to be for reasonable damages
Colleges being independent businesses and not franchises of one business hurts them. that and no CBA

No contact can also mean Williams is negotiating with a select few teams.

Leavitt has a no contact and has visited 2 schools and on to the 3rd. It means only schools he contacts can communicate.
