I was wondering if I missed an earlier post about this topic, as I am a "Johnny Come Lately" sometime.
As reported in the Midland Reporter-Telegram on January 6, 2026, "Stephanie Okechukwu, a 7-foot-1 freshman who joined the team Friday, sat on the Texas Tech bench."
She awaits an NCAA ruling about her eligibility. She would be the tallest player in the history of women's college basketball."

I realize that for many on Tiger Droppings, women's basketball is not a high priority, despite LSU's solid tradition, especially its national title a few years ago.
However, this is a significant story, which will obviously become more significant if that 7-1 post becomes eligible.
Texas Tech is a vastly improved program anyway from last season, at 17-0 after last night's victory at West Virginia.
