In this new era, highly touted portal players are unequivocally talented and some with great production to go with it. But they want high dollar and some are already coming with posse’s and drama.

I really hope the trend of getting talented unknown kids from the lower levels continues, because at minimum you get 1 year of them trying to really prove it.

That gives these kids an edge sometimes as they don’t have millions already in their account like their highly ranked counterparts.

I for one am not concerned at all reading Kiffin targeting these kids. I applaud it, because he is a great talent evaluator and these kids will be better team players and buy in if even for just one season.

For instance, if we get Landen from Elon, I’ll be thrilled. Could be Chambliss 2.0 without the price tag.

Miami is loaded with elite talent. As is Oregon

Each year, the NFL draft people that I have no clue who they are. One of the benefits of the portal is that you can scout now. That’s how they found Chambliss. Kiffin has an amazing eye for talent and that’s what’s gonna make him so lethal in this system and why he’s such a great fit for LSU. We’re about to win a lot of fricking football games.

You need elite talent for sure. But some of these lower levels guys can be elite as well with good coaching… which we have in spades now.

18 yo 5-star who matured early

or 21 yo 3-star who has two years of game experience who was a late bloomer

Who is the better player today? I think you’re seeing that all over college football now.

Teams have those guys but the elite teams still have the 5 star difference makers.

Yeah I don’t think it’s black and white, look at Toney last night.. insane high rated freshman who took over that game.

Those 5* freaks will always have a place, but you also have great underrated lower level talent as well.

Hope that Kiffin continues to blend the two like he did at OM because I believe that’s the blue print.

There are millons of these kids Chamberliss was one in a million. They just don't pop up every year. And he prolly wouldn't be known if the other qb didn't get hurt.

And yet, Indiana is the only undefeated team yet.

I hope the stigma remains because Lane brought in a lot of overlooked talent to build that Ole Miss team. I hope a lot of that talent continues to be overlooked so he can pick them up.

Team GPA not in LK’s contract?

“Student-Athlete” = Typewriter

225lb BP reps and 40 times are the new (old) GPA. New world does not even hide the hypocrisy anymore.

We ride.
