First off, they haven’t won the title.

Secondly, they will never accomplish this:

IU played 1 ranked team in 2024.

IU played 3 ranked teams in 2025.

LSU beat 7 of the top 10 in 2019 and the entire Top 4.

The quality of wins isn’t close.

nor are the record breaking stats of the greatest show on grass.

LSU stats woulda been even more bumped up had we played in a 12 teamer.

Burrow might’ve had 80 touchdowns in a 12 team playoff season

IU has no control over how many ranked teams they beat, if their conference has 20 or 1 ranked team

All they can do is beat the teams on the schedule, so that argument is dumb

We are talking about a comparison of CFBs most dominant teams.

So schedule and quality of opponents matter in that comparison.

So, your argument is dumb.

And here’s the other fact, yes Indiana is a very well coached team with talented players, but pre-NIL all the talent was concentrated in a few schools. Burrow and team ran through all of them in dominate fashion.

Burrow is 100x better than Mendoza. Chase is 100x better than any of Indianas WRs and JJ is too, Brady is a better OC, Aranda a better DC given the caliber of the offenses he played and the injuries the defense dealt with before killing the #2 and #6 offenses in the Championship and Semis. O was a great coach that season, afterwords not so much but during that season he had it, won the Coach of the Year award because of it. Indiana is also playing considerably weaker competition due to the portal and NIL, teams just arent as strong anymore and they aren't as explosive against top defenses or really even top teams for that matter as shown by the stat sheet. Theyre up there but they arent better.

I don’t know why some of y’all are bothered by the comparison.,

I get the “who did you play” thing but Indiana has looked like a machine.

It’s okay to give the credit. It doesn’t take away from the achievements of the 2019 LSU team.
