In God Emperor Dune, the Tleilaxu repeatedly tried to assassinate Leto II. Yet in Herectics of Dune, they are worshipping him.
How did it change 180 degrees?

I mean when they were trying to kill him he had ruled for 3500 years and basically forced humanity to be lower technology and into stagnation for much of that time. After 3500 years of a tyrant most would be trying to take him out.
In Heretics it was 1500 years later and humanity was thriving, and they could see the success of what he did.

The books don't say.
Maybe he's like a Jesus figure; hated when alive, then killed. Revered after His death.
I know the Bene Tleilax see him as more of a prophet than God himself.
