Wouldn’t ordering national guard troops to interfere with federal officers performing their official duties while calling on those federal officers to leave the state be an act of insurrection? They called it insurrection when the southern states mobilized their militias and forced federal customs officials and others to stop performing their duties and leave the southern states or resign back in 1861. How is this different?

that's exactly what faubus did in arkansas in 1957 to stop integration in little rock, so esinhower sent in the 101 airborne division, the federal government shut down schools for the entire year and our school district remained under federal jurisdiction for the next 50 years. our city government while not officially suspended was severely limited for the next two years. our police chief (whose daughter was my mothers maid of honor) killed himself under suspicious circumstances. i would be born 4 years later.
