Area 6
33° calm
35 whelen
Been hunting in a dried up swamp and was seeing deer in here. Yesterday I decided to hunt the ridge where I found a bunch of scrapes but didn’t see anything. Then I went to a new area for the evening, and didn’t see anything there either.
So I came back to my little swamp area. The deer I was seeing were always coming through a little east of me, just at the end of my line of sight. This morning I shifted over about 75-80 yards. Hopefully a big one will do what the smaller ones have been doing. It’s a beautiful morning. Good luck!

Where I hunt, as I was leaving yesterday, it appeared the rut was really kicking into gear (over two weeks later than usual) and there was a ton of midday movement.
Be safe and getcha one!

Where do you hunt at?
I ask because our rut in Norwood, LA seems to be just starting. We had seen some signs over the last couple of weeks, but then my uncle said a doe walked through and all of a sudden he saw 10 different young bucks all thrown into a frenzy. He's guessing she was hot.
Hoping by next weekend, the last rifle weekend, they're going good with this cooler weather.

This is in central Mississippi (Leake County). Between Christmas and Thanksgiving is usually our prime, that week was really slow this year, yesterday was bonkers. I had to come back to work a few days before heading back, and a new to the camera 9 pt came and ate corn right where I’d been sitting all morning.

Our usually starts about new years, maybe just before some years. So if we say it started this last weekend, we're almost 2 weeks behind our usual schedule.
I'm gonna need to get a primitive rifle to hunt the rut this year
