He probably knew he would be behind one other guy but probably figured he could compete and be one play away. Now all that is shot to hell.

Nah, he seems like a gamer and he said he was told Kiffin would be refilling the QB room

He has an opportunity to compete and if he loses the job when his time comes he can always transfer.

Kiffin probably cares more about winning than your HS player ranking.

He said in an interview he knew they were trying to pull Leavitt for QB1 and he would welcome the competition of Longstreet for QB2

In today's landscape, both will have to be re-recruited at the end of next season. If you have 3, never will all of them stay after one year.

Lane didn’t lie to anyone. He knew Lane was bringing in another QB. Said so himself. Was laid out a plan to develop him and that’s why he is here. Pretty sad that 19-20 year olds have more maturity than catastrophe syndrome struck fans.

He committed knowing they were going after Longstreet or another QB. Do you think they lied to him about what they were doing?

He specifically said he was told there would be more than 2 QBs in the QB room.

Maybe they can use Landen Clark in some other roles as an athlete

You have to bring in more QBs. You’re one injury away from potentially being the next Trinidad.

Nothing is shot to hell

We were always taking 3 portal QBs, we were never going to carry just 2 guys, nobody does that at QB. He knew that.

Also, he could very well win the damn job outright, dude was pretty dang good for a redshirt freshman starting his first season. Leavitt cant even practice until fall next year and who knows how healed he will be because lisfranc can go 12 months not being fully healed and he had his surgery Oct 31.

Everyone just assumes some 5-star who hasnt really played is instantly ahead of some lower division player who has played and looked really good and thats not always the case. With LEavitt out the picture for a while its not by any means impossible for Clark to win the job, or even be the #2 QB if he doesnt.

Go watch Clark's tape, the guy could be electric with Lane/Weis Jr.

Nobody was saying anything about Chambliss until he appeared on the scene this season

To play, and compete, at this level you need to believe you're better than anyone else. Let it all play out and trust the guy looking for the nugget in the pan of gravel.
