I’m hearing nothing but mud in boat launches and super low water in Golden Meadow, Point Au Chien, etc.

Any word on the Hopedale/Shell beach side?

The water here in Lake Charles is super low, but it's consolidating the fish. I have been catching big fish in deep holes in current. Including this guy from last night. 37"

8lb test on a fresh chunk of mullet. Hell of a fight!

To OP. I have been getting low water advisories from underground for over a week.

I’ve noticed you post about fishing an awful lot through the years….you or your dad don’t happen to run a guide service, do you?

I would have never caught that fish, or would still be there fighting it. That's crazy

Negative. I just love to fish and now that I live in Lake Charles and 3 miles from the water I go ALOT.

We will have another 12-14 hours of 20+mph north wind today. I'm really curious to see how low the water can really get.

Yep been threatening to launch at c pt and run boat but damn the water level. Two weeks ago I barely got out of Prien lake park.
It’s not going to get any better until late next week.

Since I do 99% of my fishing from the bank at Calcasieu Point, this low water has allowed me to pinpoint all the low spots. Makes it easy to find bigger fish in the low holes when the current picks up or it warms up.

I put a size bigger hook on my 2 main poles this morning and will see if they are deep tonight with this cold front. Should he fun.

Also took the 8lb test off and put 12. Not risking that again
