I searched and didn’t see if this was discussed but William Friedkin’s Sorcerer is streaming on YT for free. It’s been hard to find on streaming and physical media in the past, just a PSA for those interested in one under looked gem from a great director.

Worth owning a physical copy.

One of the dumbest takes of all time by Friedkin was his insistence that Sorcerer was not a remake of Wages of Fear

He didn't really say that, did he? Because that is some serious gaslighting.

Sorcerer is really a terrible name, especially from the director of the Exorcist. I know it came out right after Star Wars and that killed its box office but the title sure didn’t help

Nice I’ve never seen that need to check it out

Wages of Fear is still on Max

From Wikipedia:
He’s gone on and on and on about how he felt like his movie is more emotionally thematic, etc, etc.
Google and you can find more. I still feel it’s kinda a bullshite point

It is the second adaptation of Georges Arnaud's 1950 novel The Wages of Fear, following the 1953 French-language film. Although it is often considered a remake of the earlier film,[13] Friedkin disagreed with this assessment, considering it a more faithful adaptation of the novel.[

Elite, elite set design and production design and direction.
The film, however, has absolutely no one to root for, and thats ultimately why it failed (beyond just the Star Wars aspect). Every character in the film is explicitly stated to be scumbags, criminals, and murderers, and they went to Hell on Earth for it.
From a technical and vibe standpoint though, it's an incredible feat of filmmaking, the likes we probably won't see again. Friedkin was just a badass.
Plus... fricking Tangerine Dream...
