"Jewfish" and "Goliath grouper" refer to the same species (Epinephelus itajara), with "Goliath grouper" being the current official name adopted in 2001 to replace the culturally insensitive term. These massive Atlantic fish can weigh over 800 lbs and exceed 8 feet in length.
