Has anybody mentioned gun range snobs?
Some of them can be pretty bad..until I start drawing pictures with my Savage .22-250.

The question really is, "Where will in be in a year? Two? Five?" This isn't going away. This "artist" is already being suggested to people through Spotify.

It will always be an imitation of what human artists have already done.
It can't be any more than that.

AI music is all familiar. It will never be truly original.

Exactly.
I have a couple of friends who are going crazy about it.
Neither one of them know anything about music history.

AI music is already impressive.

Not really, it sounds exactly like what it is.

Sure, but she looks like she might fall asleep on me.
Damn, every cold front round here will smell like curry.

My question? How long did it take for you to actually think “Hey, I think I’m competent enough to call myself an actual player now?”

50 years of guitar and I say I'm still learning.
I started learning to fingerpick a few years ago and I get a lot of compliments around the guitar shops now, but to me, there's still too much that I can't do, that I really want to.
That's fine though, it's the journey and not the destination that counts. Just enjoy it and keep learning.

Use the Bigsby only for subtle vibrato as it was DESIGNED and INTENDED to be used, absolutely no dive bombs, yank ups or aggressive wiggle stickery that is best served by a Floyd or its equivalent.

Damn key right here IMO.

Music snobs are pretty annoying.

Guitar snobs are the worst.

the dude’s not exactly being Nostradamus

I'd like to hear him say "Nostradamus".
I saw Eddy Money, Thin Lizzy and Bad Company in about 1979.
Eddy Money was great, but Thin Lizzy was incredible. Bad Company had to wait till things died down before they could come out.
Bad Company put on a great show, but I think anyone who was there at that show remembered Thin Lizzy more.

Radio callers here in BHAM are saying the guy is/was in the military and his girl got pregnant while he was overseas, so the kid isn't his, and that she emptied his bank account leaving him broke. I have no idea if any of that is true.

19 years old in the service. How much money could he have had?
I was lucky if I had 100 bucks.

Yea this one is a Gibson. It’s on the way. I’ll let yall know what I think when it comes in.

I can't imagine how good it will be.
I have one of the Inspired By Gibson Epiphone Hummingbirds, that I consider to be a great guitar, but that Epiphone Banner SJ 45 was considerably sweeter.
If the Gibson version is much better, I don't even want to try one.

That one is actually an Epiphone, built in some kind of partnership with Gibson custom shop.
I have bought 4 new Epiphone guitars over the last 3 years, 3 of those guitars were Masterbuilts or Inspired by Gibson models. Ordered all of them online.
Each one of those were ready to play right out of the box with the exception of the one that was a lower end model. Had to do a little fret work on that one, but it is an excellent player now.
I would bet money that Banner model will arrive ready to play.

Welp, I found out a bit ago that Gibson custom shop is now also building the Banner 1942 model SJ-45, but they are 3x the price used.

Chet and Jerry is great
Chet and Mark is better

Chet and Knopfler's styles complement each other better I guess, but Chet and Jerry played together a lot. I think they enjoyed the differences in styles.
