That spells " tough shite".
Had this happen on a Chevrolet Impala.
It was a bad instrument cluster. It wasn't really hot.
It was only the temp gauge that was bad, but the entire cluster had to be replaced. vehicle was still under warranty. It would have cost over $ 1,000 bucks.
