If tweet fails to load, click here. Los Angeles Democrats are bringing legislation to eliminate the office in charge of audits, fraud, waste and abuse
This is the office that has been exposing homeless NGO fraud leading to arrests, now Democrats are eliminating it
Los Angeles Controller Kenneth Mejia “I just found out two hours ago that there is a proposal being presented at the Charter Reform Commission that would eliminate the Controller's office. It would take away our accounting, our payment functions, our revenue forecasting, our audits and fraud, waste and abuse investigations, and essentially give it to the mayor and the city council through the creation of a new CFO”
This is the office that was exposing the homeless NGO fraud. Now Democrats want to eliminate it give it to Mayor Karen Bass

Why do you need a charter reform commission, and a controller division as well.
Unless you are admitting the mayor's office is corrupt and needs oversight.
In which case how would one assume the reform commission is not corrupt itself?
Its akin to congress passing the bill to make it illegal for the already illegal theft of medicare by the state of California with an unlawful tax.......they just bumped up the tax and put it in this year's budget anyway.
I sense some strongly worded letters forthcoming.
