File under: 'If Moore has the balls to run for President' - he's in the pocket of the teachers' unions

Maryland high school students are dropping out at rates not seen in more than a decade.
Despite that statistic, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, during his State of the State address this month, said Maryland schools are becoming the nation’s best.
“Maryland is delivering on our promise to have the best public schools in the entire country,” stated Moore during the State of the State. “This year, we are proposing a historic $10 billion for our public schools – these are targeted investments that will deliver real results in our communities.”
Maryland taxpayers have certainly been increasing their “investments” in public education. Over the past three years, according to the Maryland State Department of Education, combined state and local PreK-12 public education funding has increased by about 16% from $12.3 billion in 2023 to $14.3 billion in 2025.
In a statement to FOX45 News, City Schools attributed the increased dropout rate to “The Covid-19 pandemic”. BCPS attributed the increase to Hispanic and multilingual learners being “afraid to come to school” due to recent federal immigration enforcement. This is the crap they keep spewing to hide the money laundering.

Quick! Throw some more taxpayer money at it and see if it gets better.

I’ve often found that a midnight basketball league fixes most youth issues

On one hand, it's better they drop out than disrupt the other students.
On the other hand, they will get into all sorts of trouble.

Give me all that money. Me using it to wipe my arse and flush it down the toilet would be a more beneficial and productive use than what Maryland is doing with it.

Schools in the Baltimore region are seeing some of the largest increases. Baltimore City Schools has the state’s highest dropout rate at 20.8%, the district’s highest rate in 15 years. Baltimore County’s dropout rate is at 12.2%, which is a 14-year high.
Suburban Maryland has some great schools...
Baltimore is an atrocity... I'd worry less about 20% dropouts, more about the 77% who can't read at even a middle school level.

Project Baltimore asked how a student who reads at an elementary school level could reach high school.
“They're pushed through,” replied the teacher. “They're not ready for the workforce. They're not ready for further education.”
When asked if it’s social promotion, the teacher replied, “Yes.”
If you are reading at a kindergarten level, drop out and pick up a shovel, cause you've already been failed.

Brand new buildings and a few more layers of overpaid administrators should do it.
