I changed the battery and it still doesn't work.
What's my next move?

Did you make sure the contacts were clean and the igniter has a solid connection to the grill? Would also make sure the spark path is clean too.

I've been doing this for a few years now, finally got around to trying to troubleshoot it.

Please explain to me what this means.
Thanks!

It doesn't even try to make a click sound. Like the button itself does absolutely nothing.

Sounds like the metal the battery comes in contact with may be tarnished or corroded. Scratch them with a small screwdriver to remove corrosion. That may help for a while.
Or, just order a new igniter via the web.
