Wouldn't use them for a wall replacement though. Wonder if they can be hacked?

And when a democrat is in charge the orders will be to ignore all incoming information

Haven't seen them 'hacked', but I have seen them rocked. BP in the El Paso sector had one go offline, but no agent checked on it for a few days. Turns out, someone pelted it with rocks and disabled it. They ended up putting some fencing up around it, with concertina wire. If monitored properly, they work pretty well.

Do they have a defense system protecting them? They wouldn’t last two minutes in New Orleans.

Only way they act as a virtual fence is if fully autonomous machine guns are tied to them to drop any illegal trying to invade.

Otherwise, it's a fricking Ring doorbell camera.

I mean, I'd settle for tranq saber guns, but i agree with this. They should be able to drop anything with a pulse that moves within 50 yards or so.

It’s better than nothing.

quote:

Anduril’s Autonomous Surveillance Towers are reshaping border security—without building a physical wall. Developed by Anduril Industries, these solar-powered towers act as a virtual fence along remote stretches of the border.

Using radar, optical and thermal cameras, and AI software called Lattice, each tower can automatically detect, classify, and track people or vehicles miles away—day or night. Instead of agents staring at screens, the system sends smart alerts with real-time imagery, guiding U.S. Border Patrol to where activity is actually happening.

Deployed in networks, the towers hand off tracking from one to another, creating continuous coverage across wide areas. The result: fewer false alarms, faster response times, and persistent surveillance, without fences, walls, or constant manpower.

In places like the Big Bend region of Texas, where physical barriers are impractical, this technology enables a virtual wall built on sensors, software, and rapid response instead of concrete and steel.
