Nowhere near the BP spill amount of millions.

According to a LOOP press release dated March 3, the oil was discovered Thursday, Feb. 26, near its offshore operations about 20 miles from Port Fourchon in Terrebonne Parish.

In its statement, LOOP reported that splotchy areas of oil were identified across a roughly one-mile stretch of open water.
The company said response teams have recovered a substantial portion of the oil and that a limited amount was also recovered from isolated barrier islands.
LOOP said 32 vessels and more than 250 personnel have been deployed for cleanup efforts. Daily aerial surveillance is being conducted using helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft and drones, according to the company.
Officials said there has been no reported impact to fish or wildlife.

WWL Louisiana first learned of the incident from a viewer that claimed an oil spill near Port Fourchon was the reason the Audubon Aquarium Rescue postponed a turtle release event last Friday. A satellite photo from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration taken on that day depicted a "sheen" in the general area.

There's so many holes in the ground there and 90 year old pipelines. Oil is constantly seeping out in the Gulf.

This is the equivalent of 2 underground storage tanks at a gas station.

I’m sure there’s dumbasses making FB comments from their petroleum product phones and laptops complaining that we should stop drilling for oil.
