They are products of the hosts. Hosts let them talk for 20 minutes at a time and it gives them a false sense of importance. They feel like Baton Rouge must hear what they have to say. I have had callers actually yell at me off air for not giving them the time that "buddy gives to me".

Now I know why it's Damon Sunday instead of Scrappy when Matt Moscona can't work the board..it all makes sense. 
P.S. Kudos to Fastest Hour for hustling down the national/regional interviews into the BR market, as formerly Ott's calls up to Happy Fein in Pittsburgh, Goldsheet's Bruce Marshall, and Stump Steinle in Kansas, were the only time a BR host would make such efforts. TFH's calls to Parrish,etc..are much appreciated.
I really miss Timmy B's show in BR, he uses his CBS and lifetime contacts, it makes for a great show.

i was offered the co-hosting job with karma (which would have ended thanks to gustav anyway) and turend it down
i don't hate josh, he's just very arrogant when he shouldn't
hell if i had any beef with josh, it's that when he played against me in ball he'd actually try to play physically with me and would never try otherwise
