Wiim users - I have questions

I bought an Onkyo receiver due to Chromecast in an attempt to move away from the Chromecast audio. We believe it sounds better, but the receiver just doesn't do the casting part even a 3rd as good as the CA. Slow to begin casting and some pauses from time to time. The Wiim Pro and Pro Plus look like good additions if they work well. The questions:
Any experience with the Chromecast feature?
If I am using Toslink, then I don't care about the better DAC in the pro plus, right?
If I have no need for a remote, no need for pro plus?

Bought the pro. Got it set up and like it so far. Only complaints so far are the very low volume, and not being able to simply ask one of my devices to play music on it. I may have to rename it something that the Home app can recognize it.

you have to set up your speakers as a group in Google home and then you can tell devices to cast to it

I finally figured that out with this device. I'll have to check that with the Onkyo. Thanks.
