Please don’t kill them

quote:

Carpenter bees are important pollinators, particularly for many flowering plants, including vegetables like eggplant and tomato. They use a method called "buzz pollination," which helps release pollen effectively, although they are not as efficient as honey bees.

My late Dad was a beekeeper for many years, and I had never heard this before. I wish they would spend more time doing that and less gnawing on my new shed.

I’ll stop killing and trapping them when they stop chewing up my fence.

How many people who think they are killing carpenter bees are actually killing bumblebees? They look very similar.

Id love not to, but its either them or a boat, truck, four-wheeler, tractor, and various other things covered in bee shite and saw dust.

I guess I could build a new bazillion dollar shop but F all that. Sorry bees, go eat someone else's shite.

Anyone feeling guilty about smashing bees because they are making a mess in the shed can just go throw up a junky shed just for them. Some old 2x4's and scrap tin.

I don't blame anyone for not putting up with them in the sheds. They make a terrible mess. Also, where did they live before humans starting building?

If they'd just shite in the dirt, id be ok with them. The saw dust in my boat doesnt even piss me off that much. The fact that they're eating my shed and shitting in my boat is what sends me over the edge.

We tore down a ~ 25 year old shed that was made of Fir and had exposed joists and rafters, and you could break most of the joists over your knee. The inside looked like a sponge.

They can frick off to wherever they lived before people.

You can tell the difference if you look closely enough, but they are hard to tell apart.
